What is bone marrow aspiration and cytology?
This diagnostic test involves needle aspiration of the bone marrow cavity, while the patient is under heavy sedation or anesthesia. This test allows for the diagnosis of a number or bone marrow-related conditions as listed here:
- Bone marrow infection with feline leukemia virus in cats
- Bone marrow cancers, including acute and chronic leukemia and lymphoma
