INTERNAL MEDICINE > General Information

When your pet experiences symptoms of disease, it is not always easy to diagnose the cause. At MVS, our internal medicine specialists excel in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the pulmonary, urinary, cardiovascular, immune, gastrointestinal, and endocrine systems. We utilize state-of-the-art imaging technology to examine organs and soft tissues non-invasively:

Access to our on-site CT scanner and laparoscopic or thoracoscopic procedures also allow us more advanced imaging and less invasive methods for organ biopsy. Our services can be instrumental in the detection and treatment of:

  • Liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Endocrine disorders
  • Immune-mediated disease
  • Gastrointestinal and pancreatic disease
  • Bladder disease
  • Pulmonary disease
  • Cancer

MVS's Internal Medicine team also offers Radioactive Iodine Therapy (I-131) for the treatment of feline hyperthyroidism, endoscopic placement of feeding tubes, and endoscopic retrieval of foreign objects from the esophagus, stomach and intestines.

If your veterinarian has suggested the need for additional testing to diagnose your pet's condition, ask him if MVS may be a good choice for the procedure. Our team-oriented approach allows us to formulate a well-balanced diagnostic plan tailored to the needs of your pet, as well as a comprehensive and coordinated course of treatment. We strive to provide continuity of care, compassion, and the highest quality diagnostics available.
